This file describes what geothermal energy is (renewable energy that heats inside of Earth). It introduces the different layers of Earth and where everything occurs. You also learn how geothermal energy is used. For example, power plants use steam from geothermal wells to make electricity. The steam is used to spin turbines. The turbines spin magnets in coils of copper wire to make electricity. The process is shown with two diagrams that is on the right of the screen.
